The MLC will release a monthly list of the top 1,000 unmatched sound recordings

Nashville-based Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) has launched a new opt-in feature for its members by making available a monthly list of the top 1,000 unmatched sound recording uses based on their calculated royalty value. According to The MLC, this will provide members "with another way to search our unmatched data and look for uses of their works." SACEM celebrated its 175th anniversary with record collections (€1.70bn) and distributions (€1.50bn) in 2025

French rights society SACEM has collected a record amount of €1.70 billion in 2025, up 6.5% over 2024, and distributed €1.50bn to 663,000 artists and publishers, a 9% increase from the year prior. The society collected €859 in France, a stable figure (€852m in 2024), and €845m from abroad, up 13 % compared to 2024 (€749m).
