Carlyle-backed Litmus acquires a bundle of rights from Katy Perry for a reported $225m

Litmus Music, a music rights business backed by private equity firm Carlyle Group’s Global Credit platform, has entered into a creative partnership with Katy Perry in a deal that includes a bundle of rights from her five studio albums released by Universal Music Group's Capitol Records between 2008 and 2020. Symphonic, a distribution and services company for the independent sector, has signed ROQ 'N Rolla Music to a global distribution agreement covering both the Dutch independent label's existing catalogue and all future releases.
