Canada’s government launches consultation on Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things

Google reveals 95.6% of users’ complaints in India in August were related to copyright

Google has removed a total of 138,332 pieces of unlicensed content, mostly due to copyright issues, as a result of user complaints in India in the month of August, according to the company's monthly compliance report.

California governor Gavin Newsom signs the Decriminalising Artistic Expression Act

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed into law The Decriminalizing Artistic Expression ACT, which restricts the use of lyrics — in particular rap lyrics — as evidence in the court in California. The bill was unanimously approved in August by the California Senate and Assembly.

Former Register of Copyrights and champion for creators’ rights Marybeth Peters dies aged 83

The creative community has been paying tribute to Marybeth Peters, who served as the 11th Register of Copyrights from 1994 to 2010 and died Sept.ember 29 at the age of 83, following a long illness.
