Texas Court orders ChitramTV to pay Dish Network $31 million for copyright infringement

South Asian IPTV service ChitramTV has been ordered by the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas to pay US satellite television platform Dish Network over $31 million for willfully infringing over 207 programmes from 19 channels for which Dish had exclusive rights.

A French court has found the operator of stream-ripping site Mpgun.com guilty of copyright infringement, following legal action initiated by neighbouring rights society SCPP.
