Video games sales continued to drop in July 2022, going back to their pre-Covid levels

Video games sales in the US have experienced another drop in July 2022, with total revenues down 9% year-over-year to $4.17 billion, according to NPD Group unveiled by Seeking Alpha, which noted that sales are getting back to their pre-pandemic levels. This decline follows an 11% drop in June, and a 19% drop in May. The drop was mostly due to declining sales of content, down 10% to $3.67bn y-o-y. In July, accessory spending was down 22% to $148.0m, with hardware sales up 12% y-o-y to $362m.

Paris-based music streaming service Deezer has launched a free online AI music detector, available in 27 languages, facilitating the identification of AI-generated tracks across 20 platforms.
