UMG-owned Hyperion Records’ catalogue finally available for streaming

Recordings from classical label Hyperion Records will be distributed for the first time to music streaming services this summer. A first batch of 200 albums were made available for streaming on July 28.

European Parliament’s Culture Committee adopts a report calling for ‘a fair and sustainable ecosystem for music streaming’

Organisations representing creators have welcomed the adoption by the European Parliament's Culture and Education Committee (CULT ) on November 28 of the report on “Cultural diversity and the conditions for authors in the European music streaming market” with with a majority of 23 votes in favor, 3 against and one abstention. The report calls for “a fair and sustainable ecosystem for music streaming in the Union”.

CTM Outlander acquires Sam Hunt’s publishing catalogue and signs him to a go-forward global publishing deal

Universal Music Group seals licensing agreement with Ethiopia’s Sewasew

Universal Music Group (UMG) has confirmed the signing of a new licensing agreement with Ethiopia’s music and entertainment company Sewasew Multimedia, announced a week ago by Turned Global.
