Ireland allocates €25m for a pilot scheme establishing a Basic Income for the Arts

Republic of Ireland's Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media Catherine Martin has allocated €25 million as part of Budget 2022 to provide for the launch of a pilot Basic Income for the Arts (BIA) covering a three-year period. The pilot scheme will apply to workers in the arts, culture, audio-visual and live performance and events sectors.
