British neighbouring rights society PPL collected £252.8 million in 2021, up 12%

British neighbouring rights society PPL has collected revenues of £252.8 million (€299.7m) in 2021, a 12% increase (or £27.1 million) over 2020, but still £20m short from 2019’s record £271.8m.

The London-based society reported that all three revenue streams — International, Broadcast and online, and Public performance and dubbing — “grew year-on-year, with International and Broadcast and online licensing revenues delivering record annual amounts.”

The Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) posted revenue of €45.8 million in 2023, up 8% compared to 2022. The Dublin-based society said financial results for 2023 reached an all-time high.

Media Licensing accounted for the largest share of revenue, up by 8% to €25.2m, driven primarily by "increases in online and international revenue." IMRO renews its partnership with ICE and prepares for monthly royalty distributions

The Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) has extended its agreement with digital music licensing hub ICE (International Copyright Enterprise) over a new multi-year period.
