The Republic of Ireland's Basic Income for the Arts pilot scheme will launch April 12. It will provide artists and creative arts sector workers who opt in with some regular revenue (a weekly a payment of €325) so that they can "focus on artistic and creative work during the period of the pilot." Germany's competition regulator Bundeskartellamt has cleared the merger of Bertelsmann's music division BMG with Great Mountain Partners-backed music company Concord.
